Top 5 Tips For Saving Space in Your Camper Trailer

When it comes to camper trailers, every single centimetre of space can really count. Whilst it might seem like a big challenge when you bring your new camper trailer home, you can actually get everything that you need in there—and it can leave you with enough room to move, too! Here are the top 5 tips for saving space in your camper trailer.

1. Find a Better Way to Place Your Wastebasket

Your wastebasket can take up a lot of space, especially in an area like the camper where space is at a premium. Consider an over-the-door wastebasket mount. You can easily mount it over any cabinet door in your camper trailer.

2. Hook Yourself Up

Simple hooks, available in both sturdy plastic and metal, can be placed on any vertical surface in your camper trailer. You can hang towels, coats, kitchen utensils, pot holders, and many other things to save lots of space in your camper trailer.

3. Look Up for Extra Cleaning Storage

Cleaning tools like brooms, mops, and hand-held vacuum cleaners can clutter up your camper trailer quite a bit, but you need them to keep the place looking neat and tidy. Consider mounting these tools to the ceiling if you're pressed for space on the floor.

4. Create a New Take on the Junk Drawer

Your junk drawer may be a black hole—when something goes in, you might not see it again for ages. Not only does that junk drawer take up valuable space in your camper trailer, but it also keeps you from seeing the items immediately whilst looking for something. Use a wire hanging basket that allows you to see what's inside. A three-tiered basket is even better, and it might just allow you to organise your junk drawer in a more effective way.

5. Create Extra Kitchen Counter Space

In the kitchen area of a camper trailer, there's usually a small amount of counter space on each side of the sink. This space can easily be filled up with drying dishes, leaving you no room for anything else. Purchase an over-the-sink drying rack. The drying rack sits securely several centimetres above the faucets, allowing you to use the sink freely whilst still allowing a place for dishes to dry. You can also use the drying rack for the storage of sponges and other items when needed.

Whilst fitting out your new camper trailer, use the tips above to maximise your space. Your new camper trailer will soon feel just as home like as any house could!
